Mrs. Alta Burnside
Mrs. Alta Bratton Burnside, 49, died at her home northwest of Pontiac at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, after a four years’ illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Raleigh J. Harris Funeral home with the Rev. A.B. Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Memorial park.
Mrs. Burnside was born Oct. 17, 1895, at Johnsonville, a daughter of Frank and Izaria Gloeckner Bratton. She came to Pontiac in 1930, where she was married Feb. 4, 1931, to Archie Burnside. They lived in Saunemin and Pontiac.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Francis and Kenneth, at home; a stepson, T. Sgt. Robert Burnside, Fort Knox, Ky.; her father, a brother, Delbert Bratton, Mattoon and three sisters, Mrs. Maud Hargrove, Alma; Mrs. Ruby Downen, Fairfield; Mrs. Vernon Tenney, Kankakee. She was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers, Phillip and Earl.
She was a member of the Eylar Methodist church.
