RICHARD WATSON DEAD
Richard Watson, son of Ulysses and Mattie Watson, was born in Wayne County, July 31, 1900. He grew to manhood in the a Rock Branch neighborhood where he was loved and respected by every one.
His father passed away in August 1921. Since that time he has assumed the duties of the home and was ever mindful of the welfare of his loved ones.
He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Vaughn January 26th, 1924.
A few days ago he was stricken with an illness which was intensely severe from the very beginning although he was in the very prime of young manhood and seemingly physical strength the suffering was more than the body could endure and death came as a relief to him at 11:30 o’clock, February 6, 1925, at the age of 24 years 6 months and 6 days.
All that human hands could do to relieve and restore him was done but to no avail.
Besides his loving and faithful companion he leaves a devoted mother and sister and a great host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
Funeral services were conducted at the home at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon February 7th by Eld. W.D. Crippin. Interment in the Johnsonville cemetery.
Many beautiful flowers were a silent tribute to the memory of the loved one, who was taken so suddenly from his friends and loved ones.
