John Vaughn Dies
At Fairfield Home
John T. Vaughn, 77, prominent Wayne county stock man and a resident of Fairfield for many years, died at his home, 603 West Monroe street, Monday morning following a lingering illness.
He was born January 8, 1872, in Saline county, and had spent all of his life in and near Fairfield but six years. For a number of years he lived on a farm just north of the city.
He is survived by his widow; one son, Clarence, of Anderson, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Jones, of Atlanta, Ga., and a step-son, Jack Clark, of Urbana, all of whom were present for the funeral.
His first wife and a daughter, Mrs. Corrine Huthey, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the General Baptist church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Guy Roney officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill cemetery.
