A message received by the Press editor Tuesday morning from Dr. George H. Galbraith, at Long Beach, California, told of the death there of Newton Wiley Galbraith, a former well-known Johnsonville citizens.
Details as to the cause of death were not included in the message.
Mr. Galbraith left Johnsonville in 1921 to make his home with his son in Long Beach. He has since made his home there.
He was born at Johnsonville Nov. 22nd, 1846. He engaged in farming in the vicinity of Johnsonville, and followed that vocation until age crept upon him and he retired.
He was a life-long member of the Methodist church.
He leaves to mourn, a daughter, Mrs. F.B. Wilson, of St. Louis; Fred C. Galbraith of Modesto, California; Leslie Galbraith, of Porterville, California; and F.N. Galbraith, Montabella, California.
While the message did not state, it is presumed that the burial will take place at Long Beach.
