PIRLEY PENNINGTON
DIES IN OLNEY

Pirley Pennington, aged 38, well-known Fairfield resident passed away at a nurse’s home in Olney Saturday. His death terminated a lingering illness of more than tree years, during which time he has undergone a number of operations.

He suffered from a cancer of the intestine, and his condition has grown more serious gradually. For the past several months he has suffered much with no hopes for recovery, just waiting for the end. During this period many Fairfield people have written him letters and visited him in an effort to give him a little sunshine. He has been at the home of his nurse in Olney for about three months.

Pirley was a son of the late E_ec and Amanda Pennington, and was born August 22, 1904 in Berry township.

He was a member of the General Baptist Church, from which funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at two o’clock, with Rev. Art McRill officiating, assisted by Rev. Guy Roney. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Chloe Smith of El Paso, Texas. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
