Hanner Beeson, daughter of W.D. and Elizabeth Beeson, was born in Wayne County Sept.22, 1859. She was married to J.D. Pennington March 24, 1881, and to this union four children were born one having died in childhood. Three children and a loving husband are left to mourn the loss of a dear wife and mother. they were with her during her last illness, and all was done that loving hands could do. She joined the general Baptist church in May 1877.

She loved and trusted her savior through life, and when she knew God was calling her home she trusted her Savior to bring her husband and children to her in that home where there will be no more parting neither sorrow nor pain. She wanted sung at her funeral: “Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep, from which none ever wakes to weep.”

The burial took place Tuesday Feb. 27 at Cates Cemetery.
