LT. HAROLD MORRIS
Killed in Burma

Chenoa. -(PNS)- Mr. and Mrs. Ray Morris recieved a letter from the War department Monday confirming the earlier word of the death of their son, Lt. Harold Morris, 23. Lt. Morris, a fighter pilot was killed in action March 27, in Burma.

He was born June 13, 1921, at El Paso, but moved to Chenoa when a small boy. He graduated from Chenoa High school, attended the University of Illinois and was active in athletics.

He married Miss Mary Elizabeth Scheeler of Graymont, Sept. 2, 1943.

Lt. Morris entered service in October, 1942, and took his training at Maxwell field, Ala., and at Cortland, Ala. He was commissioned and recieved his wings at Craig field, Selma, Ala., on Aug. 30, 1943. He served six months in Panama and later had six months training in Florida. He had been overseas for five months.

Surviving are his wife, parents, a sister Mrs. Daryl Wilson, Melbourne, Fla., and two brothers, Sgt. Virgil Morris in Germany and Donnie at home.

He was a member of the Chenoa Methodist church.
