April 1945

Strauder J., son of Parker and Nancy Jane Marshall, was born in Douglas county, Illinois, December 15, 1859. Departed this life at his home near Sims, April 8, 1945, age 85 years, 3 months and 23 days.

He was united in marriage with Mary Floyd in young manhood and two children were born to this union, Jimmy and Horace; Jimmy died in infancy. His companion passed away and he was again united in marriage with Armilda Dallas. Ten children were born to this union, Edward, Isaac, Jesse, Monroe, Lorene, Ephriam, Lyndal, Laura, Barbara, and Lula, three of these children, Edward, Isaac and Barbara have preceded their father in death. This companion also passed away September 6, 1927. Later in life he was united in marriage with Ida Mayberry.

He was converted and was a charter member of the Sims Christian Church; he was a faithful member of this congregation, attending the service as long as his health would permit.

He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, eight children, thirty-nine grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren, many other relatives and a great circle of friends. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
