Ida Ashmore Liston, daughter of James A. and Rebecca Ashmore was born Sept. 22nd, 1877, in Douglas County, Illinois, and departed this life Jan. 26th, 1946, age 68 years, four months and four days.
She was united in marriage with Clyde E. Liston Jan. 15th, 1899, and to this union four daughters and three sons were born.
She with her family moved to Wayne county, Ill., in 1900 and has resided in Wayne County the remainder of her life except nine years spent in Arkansas and two years in Edwards County.
She was converted at Antioch Baptist Church in Cole County, Ill., and after coming to Wayne County, united with Victory G.B. Church, later moving her membership to the First G.B. Church of Fairfield, and remained a member until death.
She leaves to mourn their loss, a devoted companion, three sons, Glen, James, Cecil and four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Copeland, Lutie Liston, Mrs. Doris Turner, and Mrs. Rebecca Lois Galloway, all of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four brothers, John Ashmore, Oakland, Ill., Scott Ashmore, in California, Frank Ashmore, of Springfield, South Dakota, Earl Ashmore, Alton, Ill.; six sisters, Nettie King, Danville, Ill., Minnie Markle, Jasonville, Ind., Loretta Winship, Casey, Ill., Olive Weaver, Wessington Springs, South Dakota, Dollie Foltz, Upton, Wyo., Winnie Bennett, Kansas, Ill. One aunt at Paris, Ill. and a host of other relatives, and friends.
