Reason A., son of Reason and Mary Clifford Davis, was born near Mt. Erie, April 21, 1873. He grew to manhood and has spent his life in the vicinity of his birth.

He was never married and since the death of his parents has made his home with his brother, Madison K. Davis in Mt. Erie. Quiet and unassuming in his nature he endeared himself to all of his friends and acquaintances.

Following a long period of illness he entered peacefully into rest at the Jackson Hospital in Olney, early Monday morning, April 16, 1945, age 71 years, 11 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers who died in infancy and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rodgers and Mrs. Janey Barnes. He is survived by two brothers, William H. and Madison K. and one sister, Mrs. Etta Daniels all of Mt. Erie, many other relatives and a large circle of friends, who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Mt. Erie, Wednesday afternoon by Elder W.D. Crippin, assisted by the pastor, Rev. W.L. Watson. Interment was in the Scott cemetery.
