E.C. Melrose, 91, Dies

A well-known Fairfield man, E. C. Melrose, 91, died at 12:41 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 1985, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home, with Rev. Louis Frick officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation Friday

Friend may call at the funeral home for visitation Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Melrose was born in Fairfield Aug. 11, 1894, the son of Chester H. and Hattie M. Lyon Melrose. He married the former Ruth Creighton in 1917, in Fairfield.

Mr. Melrose grew up in Grayville and he attended business school in Indianapolis, Ind.

A lifelong Methodist, Mr. Melrose was a member of the Fairfield Elks and the Masonic Lodge.

The Survivors

Among survivors are two sons, Dan. C. and Edward C. Melrose,; one sister, Caro Webber, five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one infant daughter.
