Ill Long Time
Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Sidwell, 76, wife of J. Herschel Sidwell, well-known resident of the Buckeye community near Geff, passed away early Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guy Best, in Fairfield.
She has been in failing health for some time, suffering with arthritis and the frailties of advanced age. A few weeks ago she and her husband moved to the Best home here.
Funeral services were held at the Nale chapel Monday afternoon by Elder John Samford with burial in the Buckeye cemetery.
Hannah Elizabeth, daughter of Nathan and Elinina Norman, was born in Hamilton county on February 5th, 1871.
In 1887 she was united in marriage to Emery Garey. To this union one son was born. This companion preceded her in death in 1892. In 1899 she was united in marriage to Herschel Sidwell. To this union were born six children, one of whom, Georgia, preceded her in death, as did two step-shildren, Mabel and Paul.
She professed faith in Christ in early womanhood, and remained of that faith until the end.
She leaves to mourn her departure her companion, two sons, Halsey Garey, Eureka, Illinois; Orien Sidwell, St. Louis, Mo., four daughters, Robley Molt, Jessie Best, and Cleoma Griffith of Fairfield, and Cleora Sidwell of St. Louis Missouri; one step-daughter, Olevia Towns, whom she reared and loved as her own; 10 grand-children, 13 great grandchildren and one brother, Will Norman of Indianapolis, Indiana.
