HOOPESTON -- Mrs. Bessie Grice, 86, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Hoopeston Community Hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks.  Mrs. Grice had lived with a daughter, Mrs. Emma Gooden of Hoopeston for two months.

Born Jan. 17, 1888, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of John M. and Ruth Whitaker Creighton.

On July 28, 1910, she was married to Lee Grice who preceded her in death in 1951.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Hess of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Musgrave of Fairfield and Mrs. Gooden, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Grice was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fairfield.

The body has been taken to Nale Funeral Home in Fairfield.  Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Other arrangements are incomplete.
