Creighton---Died, Monday night, Jan. 23, at Salt Lake City, Hon.Joseph C. Creighton, aged 44 years.

The deceased was a brother of Judge James A. Creighton of this city.  His death was due to consumption.  Mr. Creighton was well known in Sangamon and Christian counties,  For eight years he held the position of state's attorney of Christian county.  About  two years ago he went to Salt Lake City for the benefit of his health.  He is survived by his widow and several brothers.

The remains left Salt Lake City last night and will be sent to Wayne county, Ill., for burial.  Judge James A. Creighto and family of this city will leave for Wayne county today to attend the funeral.  During the absence of Judge Creighton, Judge Owen P. Thompson of Jacksonville will occupy the bench.
