Mrs. Melvina Sunderland, 81, of 2112 Wiggins Ave., died at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Wrightwood Nursing Home.

A resident of Springfield for 10 years, Mrs. Sunderland was born at Fairfield.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Fairfield.

Surviving are one son, Joseph L. of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ruth Wingert of Peoria; three brothers, Olin C. Creighton of California, Jake Creighton of Dallas, Tex., and Jim Creighton of Akron, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Puckett of Akron, Ohio, Miss Eva Creighton of Chicago and Mrs. Bessie Grice of Fairfield.
