Was born April 17th, 1865, died May 22, 1914, being 49 years, 1 month & 5 days old. He was married to Miss Della Miller, March 6th, 1884; to this happy union were born seven sons and five daughters, one having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his death a companion and eleven children. He will be missed most of all in the home where he was wholly devoted to his family. His chief desire was to remain with them. He was unable to talk much in his last moments, but called the boys to his bedside and told them to be good and meet him in heaven and also requested them to care for their mother; he urged all to prepare for a better home. His friends were many and enemies few. He was converted to Christ in January 1905 and was baptized into the fellowship of the Sims Baptist church and later moved his membership to Pin Oak Baptist church of which he was a member when the end came.
The funeral services were held at Sims conducted by Eld. J. S. Bright assisted by Eld. Israel Turner in the presence of a large crowd after which the remains were laid to rest in the Pin Oak cemetery.
