On March 8th, 1922 the death angel entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruce and took away their only little babe, William Charles Harlan Bruce, born May 25, 1921 age 9 months and 11 days.

He leaves to mourn their loss a loving father and mother, both grandfathers and grandmothers, five uncles and two aunts and many other relatives and friends.

Harlan was a bright and loving little babe and brought much happiness in our home. It is so hard to give him up. But our loss is Heaven's gain. His illness was a short one of membraneous croup. Everything possible was done to save this little one, but God doeth all things well, and he called him to his mansion above.

Funeral services were held at the home. Brother Land officiated. Burial took place at Bovee cemetery.

A little one from us has gone,
    His voice is hushed and stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
    Which never can be filled.
