Elizabeth Hall, daughter of James and Letetia Carroll, was born in Monroe County, Ohio, September 20, 1863, In her youth she removed with her parents to Illinois and located in Wayne County, near Johnsonville. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of her new home and was converted and united with the Rock Branch General Baptist Church, where she retained her membership through her life.

She was united in marriage with Albert Lester Schofield, December 21, 1891. Two children were born to this union, one little son died, January 8, 1891. In 1914 she removed with her family to Wausaukee, Wisconsin, where she resided for thirty years. Her companion passed away June 27, 1938.

About a year ago she returned to Wayne County and has made her home with her sister, Mrs. Nora Clark, near Johnsonville, where, following a few days illness she entered into rest., Thursday night, April 12, 1945, age 81 years, 6 months and 22 days.

She is survived by one son, Albert, two brothers, George of Johnsonville and Charlie of West Burlington, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Nora Clark, many other relatives and a large circle of friends, who will mourn her passing.

Funeral services were conducted from the Rock Branch Baptist Church Sunday afternoon by Elder W.D. Crippin. Interment was in the Johnsonville cemetery.
