EVA (ELLIS) RICHARDSON
Eva Arnetta (Ellis) Richardson, daughter of William and Mahulda Ellis, was born July 17, 1871 near Johnsonville, and passed away Feb. 2, 1946, at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 15 days.
She was united in marriage with Ellsworth Richardson, Sept. 13, 18891. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1941. To this union nine children were born.
She was converted early in life and joined the Methodist Church, later transferring her membership to the Mt. Pleasant Church, remaining a faithful and active member until death.
Surviving are the loving husband and the children, namely: Ben, of Johnsonville; Mrs. Chloe Harrel and Mrs. Mildred Burkett, both of Xenia; Eldo of Dixon;; Tom of Wayne, Mich.; Ellis of St. Louis, Mo.; and Mrs. Rene Howell of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerald Eber, who died in infancy; and a daughter Anna Henson, who passed away Feb. 26, 1924.
Thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, remain. One grandson, Oren Henson, was reported missing in action in World War II.
Three sisters, Mrs. Etta Burgess of Xenia; Mrs. Mollie Vaughn of Geff, and Mrs. Emma Wilkens of Taylorville, and one brother, Albert Ellis, of Morton, Kansas, and many other relatives and friends remain to mourn their loss. Two brothers, Tom and Sherman Ellis, and one sister, Allie Whitson, preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. All the children were by her bedside at the time of her passing.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Shields of Mt. Pleasant Church, at one o’clock Monday afternoon.
