Mrs. Othie Marshel, 83, of Rochelle, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at her home in that city, following a long illness.

She lived most of her life at Sims but was retired from the Del Monte Corp. in Rochelle.

Funeral rites will be at 8:30 Monday evening (tonight) from the Lyons Cluts-Simes Funeral Home in Rochelle.  Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.  There will be private cremation.

She was born in Mabton, Wash., Now. 7, 1914, the daughter of Andrew and Pearl Richards Miller.

In 1939, in Paducah, KY, she was married to Nelson Marshel.  He died in 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Ogle County Hospice Association.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Eunice Marie) Higginbottom of Rochelle; two brothers, Leslie Miller of Taylorville and Amos Miller of Steward; one sister, Eunice Atkinson of Rochelle; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and a number of nieces and newphews.
