Kay Marilyn (Cox) Vertrees
82 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Kay Marilyn Cox Vertrees died at 12:27 p.m. Monday April 2, 2018 at Timber Creel Rehab & Health Center in Pekin, Illinois. She was a longtime secretary at Frontier Community College in Fairfield. Kay was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church.
Kay was born December 15, 1935 in Fairfield, Illinois to Leland Cox and Vera Lee Miller Cox. She was united in marriage November 15, 1957 in Fairfield, Illinois to Jack Vertrees who died June 28, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter Jill Vertrees of Pekin, Illinois; a step son Greg Vertrees of Bloomington, Illinois; a sister Judy Gruner and her husband Jim of Fairfield, Illinois; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchild.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, a brother and 3 infant children.
Graveside services for Kay Marilyn Cox Vertrees will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday April 6, 2018 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Jeff Lyon officiating. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diebetes Association and envelopes will be available at the cemetery or Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
