Shannon Rae Garrison

50 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Shannon Rae Garrison passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, December 13, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Shannon had worked at Five Brothers Café and the Fairfield Dairy Queen. She is a member of the Union North C.P. Church. Shannon loved collecting rocks. She loved her cats, especially Isaac, Maya and Maggie. She had many projects going all the time, getting some done and others on hold. She loved sewing, crafting with her beads and making solar lights out of anything. Their yard is full of them with her favorites being lanterns of all kind. She loved working in her yard with all of her flower boxes and making bird houses out of old barn lumber. She also loved riding her horses Thumbelina, Honeybee and Banjo. She loved taking her Amish friend Marilyn Miller grocery shopping. Shannon survived her first bout of cancer and was going into meetings in the survivor group in Fairfield. Shannon was a fighter, she always had a smile on her face, she is and will be missed. She never liked saying goodbye, Love You, Later is how she always hung up the phone.
Shannon was born April 23, 1968 to Kenneth R. and Nadine L. (Bell) Padgett in Fairfield, Il.On June 5, 2011, she married Monty Garrison at Sam Dale Lake near Johnsonville, Illinois.
Shannon is survived by her husband, Monty, her parents, Kenneth and Nadine Padgett of Fairfield, Illinois; 3 children, Ashley Spofford and her husband Sky of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Anthony Alexander and Andrew Alexander both of Fairfield, Illinois. 2 brothers, Tim Padgett of Bossier City, Louisiana and Christopher Padgett of Fairfield, Illinois; 1 sister, Jennifer Davis and her husband Shelby of Flora, Illinois; 1 grandchild. Her father in law, Carroll E. Garrison of Fairfield, Illinois and her brother in law, Mike Deffendall, sister in law Laura Padgett of Evansville, Indiana and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother in law.
Funeral services for Shannon Rae Garrison will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, December 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
