Alfred C. Lane, 86, Fairfield, died at 9:52 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was a retired Illinois state trooper and a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Surviving are his wife, Eva of Fairfield; two daughters, Robyn Ann Donoho of Fairfield and Susan Geil Conrey of Olney; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert of Carmi.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.  Burial will be in Bestow Cemetery at Geff, with military rites at the graveside.

Visitation will be from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
