Norman R. Skaggs

66-year-old Fairfield resident, Norman R. Skaggs, died Sunday evening at 6:45, May 17, at his home.  He was a retired Fairfield police officer after 28 years of service and served 8 years as a Wayne County Courthouse Security Officer.  He was in his fourth term as Third Ward alderman.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; a son, Doug Skaggs of Fairfield; two daughters, Sheila Masta of Pittsburgh, PA and Sarah Elliott of Flora; four brothers, Larry Skaggs and Brian Moody, both of St. Louis, MO, Keith Moody of Birmingham, AL and Major Mike Skaggs serving with the U.S. Marines.

Services for Norman R. Skaggs will be Thursday, May 21 at 10 a.m. at Fairfield's Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Memorials may be made to the FCHS Charitable Foundation providing shoes for students in need.  Envelopes will be provided at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield which is handling all arrangements.
