Helen Stutts

Helen Stutts, 97, of Wayne City, passed away at 12:57 p.m. Oct. 30, 2008, at White Oaks Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon.

She was born in Wayne County on Jan. 23, 1911, a daughter of Oscar and Anna (Brewer) Wolfe. She married Taylor Stutts on Oct. 13, 1933, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1998. She was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Will Duell officiating. Burial will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. till the funeral hour at Archie L. Sanders Chapel.

Helen is survived by sons, Larry Stutts and wife Carolyn of Wayne City, David Stutts and wife Susan of Mt. Vernon, Jim Stutts and wife Sue of East Peoria and Steve Stutts of Collinsville; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Veran Hoffher of Evansville, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.

Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wayne City.

Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City is in charge of all arrangements.
