Robert F. Jones

Robert F. Jones, 69, of Keenes, passed away at 6:13 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born in Salem on Oct. 27, 1938, a son of John Fred and Violet (Fields) Jones. He married Vivian Woodraska on July 1, 1963, and she survives. He worked for Electrolox Vacuum for years, was employed with Owen Superior Vacuum Repair in Keenes and was a custodian at Wayne City High School.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with the Rev. Mike Steed officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery in Iuka.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Bruce Jones and Danny Jones, both of Hiawasee, Ga.; a daughter, Melody Bradford and husband Mike of Keenes; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Jones of Mt. Vernon; and sisters, Wanda Barral of Flora, Kay Newman of Wayne City, Thelma Burkett of Odin and Doris Bairfield of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Stephanie; and one sister, Joann Lawarne.
