Marie "Sis" McPeak, 91, of rural McLeansboro, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Evansville, Ind.

She was born May 8, 1920 in Melvin, the daughter of Thomas and Mattie (McMahon) Wheeler, and was married May 25, 1942 to Walter McPeak, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of Lick Creek General Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Peggy (and husband, Don) Drew of Evansville, Ind., and Mary Lou (and companion, Danny Garner) of Crossville; four grandchildren, Teresa (David) Bradley, Lisa (Kraig) Hausmann, Stephanie (Mike) Eagan and Kelly (Jaclyn) Garner; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Wheeler of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two brothers, Glen "Busso" Wheeler and John Wheeler; and two sisters, Mildred Renn and Maud Wheeler.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lick Creek General Baptist
Church, the Rev. Bonnie Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Prospect
Cemetery at McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at
Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
