Arthur J. (Jim) Lamar, 51, of Wayne City, died at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 1996, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Lamar was a retired truck driver for Fairfield Gas Co.
He had been in declining health with a heart condition.
Funeral rites will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the York Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Gary Cline officiating. Interment will be in Thomason Cemetery. Visitation at the York Funeral Home will be 6 to 8 Thursday evening (tonight).
He was born at Ashley, Ill., Jan. 11, 1945, the son of Arthur J. and Dorothy Marie Smith Lamar.
On Dec. 25, 1969, he was married to Diane Guinzy.
Mr. Lamar was a member of the Wayne City Church of God and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife; four children, Robert Alan Lamar, of Las Vegas, Nev.; David Wayne Lamar, of Woodland; Leslie Marie Lamar, of Wayne City; and James (Limmy) Lamar, of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Robert W. Lamar, of Peoria, and John O. Quale, Jr., of Longmont, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Luis (Veronica) Cervantes, of Pontoon Beach, Ill.; and Mrs. David (Mary Lou) Shopinksi, of Ashley.
