Manley A. Compher, 84, formerly of Rinard, died at Burgin Manor Nursing Home in Olney at 11:20p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 1996.

A retired farmer, Mr. Compher had been at the nursing home 15 to 20 years.

He was never married.
 
Funeral rites are pending at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

He was born at Rinard Dec. 9, 1911, the son of Albert and Mae Smith Compher.

Mr. Compher was a member of the Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church near Cisne.

He was a World War II veteran.

Surviving are a sister, Myrtle Scott, of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister.
