John L. Grubb, 82, of Rt. 5, McLeansboro, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 1996 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in that city.
Mr. Grubb suffered a heart attack. He was a retired sander and painter for Wagner Electric out of St. Louis.
Funeral rites will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating, Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Fairfield. Visitation will be at Gholson's in McLeansboro from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born in Wayne County July 8, 1913, the son of Walter J. and Laura Curry Grubb.
On Aug. 5, 1934, he was married to Hazel Scott.
Mr. Grubb was a member of the Geff Methodist Church and a member of the McLeansboro Elks and Eagles Lodges.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Robert Grubb, of Waukeska, Wis.; and W. Ray Grubb, of Rt. 2, Dahlgren; one daughter, Margie McNickle, of Mesquite, Tex.; two, brothers, Burl Grubb, of Decatur; and Harold Grubb, of McLeansboro; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
