Charles H. (Pete) Hickey, 68, of Texico, died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 1996, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was the father of Mrs. Carolyn Barnfield, of Geff.

Mr. Hickey was retired from Spector Trucking Company.

Graveside rites were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Panther Fork Cemetery, near Texico, with Rev. Don Rector officiating. Visitation was held at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix Saturday evening.

He was born in Jefferson County Apr. 16, 1928, the son of Sam and May Woodward Hickey. He attended Myers school, rural Texico.

On Apr. 12, 1947, he was married to Maxine Daniels.

Mr. Hickey was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Charles L. Hickey, of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Carolyn Barnfield, of Geff;five grandchildren; one brother, Delmar Hickey, of Mt. Vernon, one sister, Mrs. Cecil (Clara Belle) Paradee, of Mt. Vernon; and  two sisters-in-law.
