Mrs. Mildred Jones, 93, of Fairfield, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Jones was a retired teacher and had spent 44 years in area schools.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson Funeral Home, with Bro. Carroll Kakac officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery here.  Visitation will be held at the J@hnson Chapel after noon Saturday.

She was born in Wayne County Apr. 16, 1903 the daughter of Homer and Myrtle Mann Matthews.

She was married to Alfred Jones. He passed away Jan. 11, 1956. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one grandson.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church; the American Legion Auxiliary and the Illinois Education Association.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean Gaither, of Williamsville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Lynne Sagle, of Williamsville; and Stephen Gaither, of Ft. Worth, Tex.; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
