Charles Patrick (Pat) Williamson, 60, of Mt. Vernon, died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Williamson, who had been in failing health, served as owner of the H. B. Williamson Company until retirement in 1989.
The company has a modern new plant in the Fairfield West Industrial Park, also operating in Wayne City.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning (today) from St. Marys Catholic Church, with Father Melvin Vandeloo fficiating. Interment was in St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon Wednesday evening.
He was born at St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 7, 1935, the son of Heyward B. and Claire Hermes Williamson. On Aug. 28, 1961, in Reno, Nev., he was married to I. Lee Shoemake.
Mr. Williamson was active in his community life, a member of St. Marys
Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Monsignor James P. Burke Council
No. 2964, the Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge No. 819, and served as a director on
the First National Bank of Wayne City board. He was a graduate of Pillsbury
Military Academy, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He served
three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as a first lieutenant.
<p>He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his wife, I. Lee Williamson, of Mt. Vernon; his mother, Mrs. Claire Williamson, of Mt. Vernon; a son, Patrick H. Williamson, of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Laura C.) Schaubert, of Mt. Vernon; and Mrs. Scott (Meg) Bunting, of Mt. Vernon; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Marys School or Bone Marrow Program of Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
