Theron O. Sprague, 91, retired Fairfield oil man, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at the Flora Care Center.

Mr. Sprague was at Skilled Care in Fairfield Memorial Hospital for three years and was also at an Olney nursing home and hospital prior to a move to the Flora Care Center a couple of months ago.

Mr. Sprague was employed with, Sam Tipps Oil here for many years.

Funeral rites are pending at Nalae's Funeral Home.

He was born in Wayne County, Jan. 30, 1905, the son of Charles and  Olive Wheeler Sprague.

On June 7, 1929, he was married to Ruth Curry. She passed away 11 years ago. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Sprague was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church near Fairfield.

Surviving are one son, Virgil Sprague, of Florida; one daughter, Mrs. Viril (Genevieve) Cunningham, of Fairfield; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
