Wayne City resident Mrs. Mae Patterson, 84 died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 1984, at St. Marys Hospital at Centralia.
Mrs. Patterson was hospitalized for two weeks where she was treated for chest complaints. She was active around her home until one month ago, the family told the Press.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Richards@n Funeral Home, Wayne City, with Rev Everett LeMay officiating. Burial will follow in East Salem Cemetery at Mt. Vernon.
Visitation for family and friends will be conducted after 6 p.m. Monday (tonight) at the funeral home.
Born in Jefferson County May 4, 1900 Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of James and Rose (Fry) Jackson.
She was wed to Bryan Patterson, who died in 1970.
Mrs. Patterson was a housewife and homemaker. She was employed for several years as a nurses aide at Fairfield Memorial Hospital before retiring.
She was a member of Keenes Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Everett and Donald Patterson, both of Centralia; and William Patterson, of Tuscola; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Irene) Clark, of Nokomis, three brothers, Mitchell Lester and Glen Jackson, all of Wayne City; one sister, Mrs Lola McCormick, of Wayne City; several nieces and nephews; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one Son, a brother and four sisters.
