A Geff resident, Walter Clinton Rich, 77, a retired crane operator, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 1984, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.
Mr. Rich was ill with cancer for the past four years. He was hospitalized for three weeks prior to his death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hosselton Funeral Home Cisne, with Rev. Fred White officiating. Burial will be in Bestow Cemetery at (end of sentence)
Friends and family may call at the funeral home for visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday (tonight).
Mr. Rich was born at Geff Sept. 1, 1907 the son of Oliver P. and Ida (Auvil)
He was wed to the former Edith Sanders at Hawesville, Ky., July 20, 1939.
Mr. Rich retired in 1970 as a crane operator, after being employed for 28 years with Caterpillar Tractor Company at Peoria. The Rich family moved to Geff following his retirement.
Mr. Rich was a member of Caterpillar Senior Citizens and Retirees Club at Peoria.
He followed the United Methodist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Rich, of Geff; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Vickey) McDowell, of Geff, and Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) McDaniels, of Peoria; two sons, Jerry Rich, of Citrus Hills, Calif., and Leslie Rich, of Lake Forest; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one son, three brothers and three sisters.
