Mrs. Ruby Harrison, 87, Fairfield, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 1989 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Barbara Sue) Simpson.
She died from congestive heart failure.
Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Nale's with Rev. Estil Murphy officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born on July 31, 1901 in Grayville, the daughter of William H. and Louretta (Jessup) Anderson.
On May 22, 1926 she married Vern Harrison in Princeton, Ind.
She was employed at Sexton Manufacturing in Fairfield for several years before moving to Alabama where she was employed with a dress factory there. She and her husband Vern also lived in Olney for a time before retiring in 1956 to a 40-acre farm near Geff. He was employed as a machinist. They had lived the past two years with their daughter.
Mrs. Harrison was also a member of the Ellen Moore United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Vern of Fairfield; two sons, Bill of Berryville, Ark. and Darrell of Traveler's Rest, South Carolina; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Simpson of Fairfield, Mrs Doris Sayers of Lakeland, Fla. and Mrs. Betty Butler of Coal City, Ill.; a sister, Bess Liston of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
