Karen Faye Carter, 53, of Carbondale, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 19, 1995, at Memorial Hospital in that city.

A retired legal secretary, she had been in poor health with a heart condition and arthritis.

She was the granddaughter of the late Silas and Hattie Carter, of Mill Shoals.  Her father, the late Chelsea L. Carter, was from the Mill Shoals area.

Funeral services were conducted Friday from the Huffman-Harker Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Haynes officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home Thursday evening.

She was born in Carbondale Mar. 19, 1942, the daughter of Chelsea L. and Margaret Hertter Carter.

She was a member of the Door-Christian Fellowship Church.                                     Ô‚è‚å‚

Surviving are her mother, Margaret Henry, of Carbondale; one son, Timothy Carter, of Carbondale, two rothers, Charles Carter and John Henry, both of Carbondale, one nephew; two nieces; and other relatives living in White and Jackson Counties.
