Bro. A. J. Driggers, 67, of 203 Summit, died at 8:10 a.m. Monday (today) Apr. 24, 1995, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He had been in declining health the past three and a half years with
cancer and congestive heart problems.
Brother Driggers had served as pastor of the Mt. Zion and Jasper Baptist
churches. He also in years past served as a guard for Airtex Products.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the J@hnson Chapel is set for 6 to 9 Wednesday evening.
He was born at Grayville Feb. 12, 1928, the son of Aubra and Zola Driggers.
On Dec. 4, 1947, he was married to Louise Irons.
Bro. Driggers was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Butch, of Yukon, Okla., three daughters, Alice Cameron, of Cedartown, Ga.; Sheila Elliott, of Westfield; and Connie Phillips, of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
