Harold G. Kline, 79, long-time resident of the Gaither Store Community in northeastern Wayne County, died at 3:45 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 1989 in the emergency room of Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
He had suffered a heart attack.
Services were held Thursday (today) at 2 p.m., in J@hnson Chapel with Rev. Melvin Farmer officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill with full military rites
Mr. Kline was born April 10, 1909 in New Douglas, Ill. in Madison County, the son of George and Theresa (LeDuc) Kline.
On July 30, 1934 he married Ruby Cox in Mt. Vernon.
He operated a sawmill in the Gaither Store Community for most of his life, retiring from his business about 25 years ago.
Mr. Kline served in the U.S. Army twice, stationed in Panama from 1931-1934, and then serving in World War II from 1943-1945, in France.
Surviving him are his wife, Ruby; two sons, Ben of Fairfield and Jack of Metropolis, Ill., a brother, Virgl and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
