Oilman Grady Roberts, 72, of Abilene, Tex., a former Fairfield businessman died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 1985, in Hendrix Medical Center at Abilene.
Mr. Roberts started an oil pump and supply company in Fairfield, which he operated for several years, prior to moving to Abilene in 1952. He and his brother owned and operated the Tri-Angle Oil Supply Company there.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Abilene, with Rev. Bill Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery there.
Visitation is planned from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday (today) at Elliott- Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene. The family requests that donations may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Tex.
Mr. Roberts was born in Magnwn, Okla., Sept. 24, 1913. He married the former Ouida Newsome at Pawnee, Okla., in 1936.
In 1983, Mr. Roberts was chosen "Boss of the Year" by OroNegra Business Women's Association in Abilene.
He was a member of the Abilene Masonic Lodge and Suez Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Ouida Roberts, of Abilene, Tex.; three sons, Jerry, James and Terry Roberts, all of Abilene, two sisters, Essie King and Libbie Gray, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and nine grandchildren
