Mrs. Ozella Velma Brand, 79, of Cook Station, Mo., a former Fairfield resident, died Sept. 18, 1985, at Steelville, Mo.

She was a retired Cook Station postmistress and businesswoman, formerly operating a mercantile store.

Mrs. Brand was the sister of Mrs. Jessie McNeil, of Fairfield, and sister- in-law of Willie Blackburn, of Fairfield and Mrs. Nora Finley, of Johnsonville.

Funeral services were held Sept. 20 in Steelville, Mo., with burial in Wesco Cemetery at Wesco, Mo.

Mrs. Brand was born in Fairfield, Mar. 30, 1906, the daughter of Charley and Clara Simms Finley.

She was first married to Jeff T. Gorman in 1930, who preceded her in death. Later she wed Floy Brand in October of 1967.

Survivors include her husband, Floy Brand, of Cook Station, Mo.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Beulah Cox, of Cook Station, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Jessie McNeil of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were one sister and three brothers.
