Funeral services for Fairfield oil man William Eugene "Gene" McCulley, 56 will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Gelsinger and Rev. David Vera officiating. Interment will follow in Bovee Cemetery north of Boyleston.
Visitation for family and friends is planned between 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. McCulley died at 11 p.m. Sunday Sept. 22, 1985, at Welborn Baptist Hospital, Evansville, Ind., where he was hospitalized following a farm accident last Thursday. He owned and operated McCulley Well Servicing, Inc., since 1974. Previously he was employed in the oil fields with sputter units for several different oil companies.

Born in Berry township, Wayne county, Oct. 23, 1928, Mr. McCulley was the son of George W. and Clarissa Porter McCulley.
He wed the former Olive Mier at Bloomfield, Mo. Sept. 2, 1949.
Mr. McCulley was a member of Fair field General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Olive McCulley, of Fairfield, two sons, Johnnie Eugene and Larry Wayne McCulley, both of Fairfield; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Doris Jean) Vaughan; Mrs. Kenny (Janet) Garrett,and Mrs. Norman (Mary Ann) Harrison, all of Fairfield; one brother, Christopher Columbus ( C. C. ) McCulley, of Fairfield; four sisters, Mrs. Hess (Neomi) Hatley, of Dyer, Ark.; Mrs. John (Francis) Walters, of Sims, Mrs. Junior (Mae) Hale, of Crossville; Mrs. Jerry (Elsie) Davault, of Carpentersville; 11 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, five brothers and three sisters.
