A former Fairfield resident, Mrs. Rena Matthews Jackson, 89, of Muncie, Ind., the sister of the late Ernie Matthews, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1985, in a Muncie hospital.

Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Lee and Emma Matthews, of Geff.

She was born and raised in Wayne County. First, married to Leon Phillips, of Cisne, she later married Leo Jackson, of Flora, who died in 1967.

Funeral services were held Friday with burial in Memorial Gardens, at Louisville.

Mrs. Jackson formerly ran a convalescent center at Louisville for Several years, prior to moving to Muncie in 1971 to be nearer her two daughters. She was in poor health for the past few years, the Press was told.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Elenor Shaw, of Muncie, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Lara Shriner, of Flora; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Maynard.
