Mrs. Lena Allen, 82, of Fairfield, a retired seamstress, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 1985, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital of the infirmities of age.
Mrs. Allen was the mother of Mrs. Dorris Richards, of Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at J@hnson Funeral Home, with Rev. A. J. Driggers officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Grayville.
Visitation for Mrs. Allen will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday (tonight) at the funeral home.
A native of White county, Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 17, 1903, the daughter of Lewis and Lula Arbraugh Owen.
Mrs. Allen was first married to Virgil Byford in 1921, who preceded her in death in 1940. She later married Veyne Allen in 1954. Mr. Allen died in 1970.
Mrs. Allen worked for several years as a seamstress at Sexton Manufacturing Company, in Fairfield, and later at Johnnye Manufacturing Company, in Albion.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Grayville, and formerly belonged to the Rebekahs and Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dorris Richards, of Fairfield; two sons, Donald Byford, of Crossville; and Darrel Byford, of Gilette, Wyo.; one brother, Luther Owen, of Flint, Mich.; seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
