Mrs. Irene Griffith, 75, of Fairfield, the wife of Bill Griffith. died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1985, at her home following declining health for two years.
Mrs. Griffith was a former president of the board for Career Development Center located in Fairfield.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday at J@hnson Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Kakac officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-9 p m Thursday (tonight).
Mrs. Griffith was born in Wayne County Nov. 11, 1909, the daughter of Frank and Hattie Atteberry Terrell. Her father was superintendent of the Fairfield Light Plant.
She married William "Bill" Griffith and celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Mrs. Griffith was a member of First Christian Church and the Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Domestic Science Club.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Griffith, of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Geneva) Parrent, of Fairfield; and Marilyn Griffith, of Flora; three sons, James and Robert Griffith, both of Fairfield; Loren Griffith, of Prairie Village, Kan., one brother, Russell Terrell, of Carmi; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
