A rural Cisne resident, Mrs. Essie Williams, 88, a homemaker, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1985, at Doctor's Nursing Home at Salem.

Mrs. Williams was the mother of Clarence Williams, of Cisne.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Hosselton Funeral Home, Cisne. Burial was in Hale Cemetery south of Johnsonville.

Born in Wayne County, Nov. 8, 1896, Mrs. Williams, was the daughter of Luke and Dora Durham Hale.

She married Fred Williams at Cisne, Mar. 11, 1917, who preceded her in death October of 1970.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Pin Oak Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Roberta Williams, of Cisne, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eileen Wiliams, of Geff; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a son Vern, and one sister and brother.
