George Bradley, 81, Found Dead At Rural Home

A retired Wayne-White lineman George Bradley, 81, of rural Cisne, was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1985, at his home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Bradley's body, was found by his wife with a gunshot wound to the head on the enclosed rear porch of his home. A .22 caliber rifle was found near his feet, according to Coroner Bob Johnson, who was called to the scene and accompanied by Wayne County Sheriff Thomas Cannon, Jr. A coroner's inquest is planned.

A family member told the Press that Mr. Bradley was in ill health recently, due to the formation of several blood clots.  Mr. Bradley was employed for over 25 years with the electric co-op before retiring in 1966.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hosselton Funeral Home, Cisne, with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Cisne cemetery with Masonic rites.

Visitation will be conducted from 11 a.m. Friday until funeral time.  Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Village at Lawrenceville.

Mr. Bradley was born in Wayne County, Feb. 3, 1904, the son of Henry and Lucy McCormick Bradley.

He married the former Beulah Lane at Fairfield, Nov. 20, 1933.

 Mr. Bradley was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church at Enterprise
and Cisne Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah Bradley, of Cisne; two sons, George Ed Bradley, of Fairfield; Douglas Bradley, of Cisne; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Guyotte, of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. John (Nelle) Thomson, of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs.
Giles (Mary) Garrett, of Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Paul (Goldie) Rutter, of Lombard, and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three sisters.
