Retired farmer, Emery L. Strole, 85, of Newton, the father of former FCHS teacher, Hallie Strole, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1985, at Effingham Hospital in Effingham

Mr. Strole was in ill health for some time. He was a visitor to Fairfield during the years his son taught science at the high school. Locally, he is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Pete (Phyllis) Kistner, of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newton with burial to follow in Kearns Cemetery at Gila. Visitation is planned from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Newton.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Strole, of Newton, three sons and a daughter, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
