A long-time-ago Fairfield resident, Mrs. Anna Webber Mallory, 99, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday morning at the Washington, Ind., Nursing Center.
Mrs. Mallory was the mother of Pluma Webber-Melvin, former Fairfield resident whose letter has become one of the annual features of the Pink Press.
Graveside services for Mrs. Mallory will be held at Maple Hill cemetery in Fairfield at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon with the Gill Funeral Home of Washington in charge. The ministers will be Rev. Loran Campbell and Rev. William Patterson, of Washington.
Mrs. Mallory was born on Nov. 21, 1885 and expired only four months short of her 100th birthday.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Washington with visitation from 4 to 9 Monday evening.
Mrs. Mallory was the widow of the late Robert Webber.
Also surviving is one grandchild Roberta Sikes, of Affton Mo., a step-grandson, a former Fairfield boy, John M. Powell. of Annandale, Va., a member of the U.S. Diplomatic Corps. Mr. Powell is flying in for the services. A daughter, Venus Hallahan, of Washington, Ind., preceded her in death.
